Taking It To Heart is a compilation album comprised of amazing Canadian bands that have very generously donated a b-side/exclusive/unreleased/physically unreleased track. 100% of net proceeds from the sale of these albums will be donated to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
The vinyl pressing of Volume 1 will be in a hand-numbered edition of 500. The LP will be pressed onto 180 gram vinyl, blood red with black marbling. The vinyl was pressed by Canada Boy Vinyl (Calgary, Alberta).
The album will come packaged in a letter-pressed, "matchbook"-style jacket. Design and printing by Jeff Mueller (of Rodan, June of 44 and Shipping News fame) of Dexterity Press (New Haven, Connecticut).
When shipped, the LP itself will be shipped outside of the jacket in a plain white inner sleeve to protect the inner sleeve stapled into the jacket. You can discard the plain white inner sleeve and place the LP into the attached inner sleeve once you receive it.
Taking It To Heart, Vol. 2 is anticipated to be released in 2017 (exact release date to be determined).

Sloan breaks absolutely NO new ground on their newest record. And I couldn't care less. Because when the songs are this good, nothing else matters.
This kicks ass. Todd Leiter-Weintraub
I love Chad, love Black Mold, love Dog Day so this collabo seemed like a dream come true. And it is, but it wasn't at first.
Upon first listen, there were some standout moments but it mostly just sounded like a couple of guys messing around with synths and samplers. Which is essentially what it is, but it requires more listening to really get at the heart of what this thing is. After the second consecutive play, it clicked. Now, I've been listening to it on repeat for most of the day. It's hypnotic, abrasive but not too abrasive, atmospheric, droney but also propulsive and catchy all at once. It's a remarkable and extremely listenable exploration of both organic and synthesized sound. It's great. nscriv
Woozy, rollicking indie rock that's thick and humid, searching vocals set against pealing guitars. Also available on cassette. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 22, 2016
